Hundreds of bare-bottomed cyclists took to the streets of London today for the World Naked Bike Ride event.

The annual ride, which is also taking place in Brighton and Southampton as well as in cities across the globe, is a protest against oil dependency and a way to demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists on the road.
Today’s bike ride in the capital quite literally stopped traffic. Transport for London tweeted that buses in the city centre are subject to delays this afternoon, advising passengers to allow extra time for their journey.
Lanes were restricted on Marble Arch and Park Lane “due to large numbers of spectators observing the start of the World Naked Bike Ride event”.
A number of those participating were seen using London's for-hire 'Boris bikes' for the event.
The London cyclists set off from five separate locations (Marble Arch, Regent’s Park, King’s Cross, Clapham Junction and West Norwood) before converging on Wellington Arch in Hyde Park Corner.
Some spectators were less than amused by the brazen riders. Twitter user Matthew Galvin said: “A cavalcade of naked cyclists have just ridden past my house. It wasn’t a pretty sight.
