BEST 5 CARS OF 2013

1. Audi A6
Reviewers of the 2013 Audi A6 raved about the attractive styling, smooth performance, and tech-filled interior that few other luxury large cars can match. Available with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers great full economy, or a supercharged V6 with strong acceleration, this luxury sedan gets up to 25/33 mpg city/highway. Reviewers heaped on the praise for the spacious cabin, agile handling, and standard features like sunroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and an iPod interface. Prices start at $42,200.

2. Audi A7
A step up from the A6 (which also shows in the price), the Audi A7 comes with more cargo space and an even higher level of interior luxury, (which include soft leather and variety of available woods to accent the dash, console, and door trims). It gets 18/28 mpg city/highway, which isn’t bad for a V6-powered luxury car. Available features like Bose or Bang & Olufsen sound systems, a backup camera with parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and a heated steering wheel truly put this car in a class of its own. Prices start at $60,100.

3. Hyundai Genesis
A powerful engine, large trunk, and spacious interior are the highlights of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis. What it lacks in the luxury interior of other models in its class, it more than makes up for in driving performance. It comes with a standard V6 engine and an optional V8 engine which makes acceleration especially quick. It also got top marks for safety and reliability. Those less tech-savvy will be pleased with the easy-to-use controls which include a dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, seven-speaker stereo with Bluetooth, satellite radio, and a USB port. The base model gets 18/28 mpg city/highway and prices start at $34,200.

4. Jaguar XF
The 2013 Jaguar XF comes with many attractive features including a standard V8 engine, athletic handling, an opulent and tech-heavy interior, and a new low base price of $46,975. The base XF comes with a moonroof, heated front seats, rear parking sensors and a 10-speaker stereo with Bluetooth phone and audio streaming and a USB port. It gets 19/30 mpg city/highway. Higher trims offer options like navigation with voice recognition, front parking sensors, a backup camera, an upgraded stereo, and a blind spot monitoring system.

5. Lexus GS
The redesigned 2013 Lexus GS is set to give German luxury large cars a run for their money. It’s comfortable, luxurious and sporty, with a striking interior and comfortable seats. The redesign amped up cabin and trunk space, and fuel economy improved to 19/28 city/highway. As a bonus, Lexus backs all its vehicles with a separate powertrain warranty, a major selling point to buyers who intend to keep their cars longer. Prices start at $47,250.
