She raped me, says man that impregnated his 21-yr-old daughter

LAGOS—A 50-year-old private guard, who was arrested for having carnal knowledge of his daughter, which resulted in pregnancy, has said his daughter raped him, while also blaming his indulgence on the devil.

reliminary investigation by policemen at Igando Division revealed that the suspect, Taiwo Oyelabi, had been sleeping with his biological daughter since November 2017. It was further revealed that he often went to work with his daughter, aged 21, where the act also took place. Trouble started for the girl, who is a twin, after her parents separated. Their aunt, who resides in Cote D’Ivoire, took custody of the children until they returned last year. How he was arrested—Lagos CP Explaining how the suspect was arrested, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal, who described the act as not only un-African but against the law and humanity, said: “Sometime in November 2017, the suspect took the now grown girl from his sister and brought her home to live with him in his house at Iyaba-Oba. “Since then, the suspect had been having inappropriate sexual liaisons with his daughter and the unholy liaison between father and daughter resulted in pregnancy. “Investigation into the case revealed that the suspect is a security guard. But the strange part is that whenever he was going to work, he went with his daughter. This strange behavior attracted the attention of the community and they reported it to the Police.” ‘I am not the only one sleeping with her’ When approached, the suspect said: “This is not ordinary. It is the work of the devil. But my daughter is also to blame because she raped me. She started by kissing me. The first time she did it, I was sleeping. “I woke up and beat her and told her to stop it. I even took her to a white garment church for deliverance, where I was told to bring some things with which to prepare some spiritual bath for her to stop the act. “I even went ahead to engage her in a nylon-making factory, yet she continued.” Asked why he always went to work with his daughter, he said: “She said she could not stay at home alone, as her twin sister is married and my second wife left me when my children came back. “We did it five times. By the time she realised she was pregnant, she was over three months gone and there was nothing we could do about it. “Besides, I am not the only one she has slept with. She also has a boyfriend. I believe her boyfriend is responsible for the pregnancy.” Suicide attempt He continued: “When I discovered she was pregnant, I tried to kill myself three times, but people stopped me. The first time, I tried to drink insecticide, but a neighbor stopped me. “I later jumped into a well, but I was rescued alive. I wanted to take my life because this is not real. It was my landlord that reported me to the Police because I owe him,” the Osun State-born man added. The suspect, according to the CP, will be processed to the special offences court in Ikeja.

TEENAGE TERROR- Teenager 'posed for Snapchat selfie with classmate's dead body after shooting him in face'

A teenager who allegedly shot a fellow school pupil in the face before posing with his body in a Snapchat selfie has been charged with murder in the US.

The 16-year-old boy is accused of murdering Ryan Mangan, 16, at his home in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday.
He was arrested after police were given a copy of the photo, which had been sent to another boy through the phone app that automatically deletes messages within seconds  unless they are saved.
“(Police) received a copy of the photo which depicted the victim sitting in the chair with a gunshot wound to the face,” said an affidavit seen by the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. “It also depicts a black male taking the ‘selfie,' with his face facing the camera and the victim behind.”

The mother of the boy who saved it contacted police, the newspaper reported, saying her son also received text messages saying “I told you I cleaned up the shells” and “Ryan was not the last one”.
The suspect has been charged with first-degree murder, homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.
Ryan, who went to Jeannette High School with his alleged killer, is being buried today.
A GoFundMe page set up by a family friend in the wake of his death has so far raised more than $5,000 (£3,000) to help his family with funeral costs.

An American man is suing Portugal and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo over the ‘CR7’ trademark. Ronaldo, more popularly known as CR7, has an underwear line by the same name. But as it tries to enter the US market, it has hit a roadblock. The reason? There’s already someone in the US with the ‘CR7’ trademark. And he is currently being hassled to give up that trademark. Who owns the CR7 trademark? Christopher Renzi, a 43-year-old fitness enthusiast, first trademarked the CR7 moniker in 2009. He has already used it on jeans and t-shirts, and also has a 7-minute workout under the CR7 name uploaded on his website. He had made the trademark based on his initials (CR) and the his day of birth (October 7). Renzi has now filed a complaint in Rhode Island federal court after JBS Textile Group lawyers sent him letters asking him to give up the trademark so that Ronaldo’s CR7 underwear can be sold in the US. It is learned that JBS even asked the US Patent and Trademark Office to cancel Renzi;s trademark. Michael Feldhuhn, Renzi’s attorney, said: “We just want them to leave us alone,” while they sought a court’s declaration stating that he owned the trademark. And JBS state that they hold “exclusive, worldwide license” to market the underwear line and that Renzi trademarked it to profit from Ronaldo’s fame and popularity. Although CR7 has been associated with Ronaldo for years now, Feldhuhn added, “It’s really based on who’s using it first. We can show we were the first use of the CR7 name in commerce in America.” “They don’t really have the trademark rights because they haven’t used it.”

CONFUSION AS BABY'S PLACENTA IS DISCOVERED WITH ALFA

The discovery of a baby placenta in the residence of a man, identified simply as Alfa Gani, is causing confusion in the Laduba community, Ogidi area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

Our correspondent gathered on Thursday that the discovery was made when some volunteers went round the Laduba community to appeal for financial contributions from residents for the repair of a faulty transformer in the area.

It was said that the volunteers perceived offensive odour at Gani’s residence, which they later reported to other members of the community.

It was said that curious to know what smelled, some members of the community rushed to Gani’s residence and demanded an explanation for the offensive odour oozing from his house.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said that Gani initially accused the community members of intruding into his privacy.

He was said to have rushed to the Oloje Police Station to report the community members.

The source added that before Gani could come back with the police, the community members had entered his house and discovered a boy with a baby placenta.

The enraged community members were said to have beaten up the boy, making him to confess that he was asked to prepare a charm by Gani, who allegedly exhumed the placenta.

While this was going on, our correspondent gathered that a woman, whose baby naming ceremony was recently held near Gani’s house, arrived at the scene.

On seeing the placenta, she was said to have rushed to where the placenta of her new-born baby was buried, only to discover that it was missing. She was said to have raised the alarm, alerting the community members to the ugly development.

When he came back with the policemen to arrest the community members, the commotion was still in progress.

The source said, “The residents narrated their discovery to the policemen. It was at that point that the policemen decided to search the entire house including an uncompleted building behind the suspect’s house, after which they discovered some human parts.”

It was gathered that the enraged mob vandalised Gani’s house and set it on fire.

South Korea ferry: Death toll passes 100 as evidence shows ship did not turn sharply

The death toll from the ferry which sank off the coast of South Korea last week has officially passed 100 for the first time, as new evidence emerged showing it did not turn sharply before capsizing.

The Sewol, which was carrying 476 people, had an inexperienced third mate at the helm at the time of the disaster. On Friday, a government official said data appeared to show that the vessel had made an abrupt turn just before it started listing dangerously.
Yet analysis of the full data from an on-board transponder used for tracking has now shown that the ship in fact made a much more gradual, J-shaped turn before it sank. Today the ministry of ocean and fisheries said its previous data had been incomplete.
At least 104 bodies have now been retrieved from the wreckage of the ferry, but more than 300 are either missing or dead - many teenage pupils from the same high school.
The cause of the disaster is not yet known. Officials said the third mate, who has been arrested, was steering in a challenging area where she had not steered before, and the captain said he was not on the bridge at the time.

MH370 UPDATE :Cyclone halts MH370 search after 20 ships and aircrafts are enlisted to help

The search for Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 has had to be
suspended, after a Tropical Cyclone hit the area in which searches were
taking place.

The announcement that the storm, Cyclone Jack, would halt Tuesday’s search, came hours after authorities had announced that 10 military aircraft and 10 ships would be helping with Tuesday’s search efforts.
The searches that are taking place in an area about 990 miles northwest of the coast of Perth, were  stopped for the day, after those coordinating the search said the cyclone would lead to poor visibility and potentially dangerous conditions for searchers.
“It has been determined that the current weather conditions are resulting in heavy seas and poor visibility, and would make any air search activities ineffective and potentially hazardous,” the Joint Agency Coordination Centre said.
Only four planes were able to set off, but the poor conditions meant any chance of finding evidence of the missing plane were small.
The setback occurred on the day that $4 million U.S Navy drone submarine, Bluefin-21, neared the end of its search mission.
It was announced by those that controlled the drone that it could complete its scaling of the unmapped 1,2000 mile stretch of open ocean as soon as Wednesday.
Despite having covered over two thirds of the plotted area already, the drone is still yet to produce any evidence that the plane had crashed in the area.
It was felt that the Bluefin-21 would be the most promising aid in the search for the plane that went missing nearly seven weeks ago. However, if by the end of its mission, the U.S submarine has not found any evidence of wreckage it would lead to authorities having to decide on what course of action to take next.
With no wreckage being found, and the only evidence of the plane having crashed in the current search area being recorded pings believed to be from the plane’s black box, search organisers may have to re-evaluate the situation and decide on where next to direct their operations.
Earlier, families of the passengers of the Malaysian flight MH370 reacted angrily to the Malaysian authority’s offer of compensation.
In a statement released after the discussions the families’ of the survivors said: until “at least a tiny bit of concrete evidence" that the plane crashed is found, authorities should not try to settle the case with final pay-offs.
"No meaningful report on the progress of the investigation was given" at the meeting, the relatives said, adding that "not a single one" of their questions was answered.

Oscar Pistorius trial: Athlete's family denies he took acting lessons before taking stand

The Pistorius family has denied in the “strongest terms” the athlete took acting classes in preparation for his murder trial, following accusations that he was “coached” by a professional actor.

In an open letter, British-born columnist Jani Allan accused him of faking his courtroom tantrums and described the athlete, who is accused of murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year, as a "faux hero".
"I have it from a reliable source that you are taking acting lessons for your days in court," Ms Allan wrote. "Your coach has an impossible task."
She continued: "Oscar, I look at you mewling and puking in the witness stand. You truly represent everything the West loathes about white South Africans who live extravagant lives."
Anneliese Burgess, a spokesperson for the Pistorius family, dismissed Ms Allan's letter as a "mockery of the enormous human tragedy involving the Steenkamp family and our client and his family".
She added: "We deny in the strongest terms the contents of her letter in as far it relates to our client and further deny that our client has undergone any acting lessons or any form of emotional coaching."
Ms Burgess said Ms Allan, who claims to have sources close to the athlete, has never met Pistorius and described any knowledge she professes to have of him as "fictitious".

BIZZARE : More victims of Ibadan evil forest recount ordeals

A big hole might have been dug in the claim by the security operatives met at the site in Soka area, along Lagos/Ibadan expressway in Oluyole Local Government area of Oyo State.
The place was allegedly being operated by a spiritualist for the cure of people with insanity problem as some of the rescued persons on Monday denied ever having anything to do with insanity problem.
On Saturday, the site was discovered at the back of Macmillan Publishers where decomposed bodies, dry skulls and different other human body parts as well as human skeletons were seen and some victims were rescued.
Four of the victims, among those taken to the General Hospital, Adeoyo, Ibadan told journalists on their hospital beds that they were kidnapped from different locations at different times just as they insisted that they were not mad people.
The victims, Nofiu Shittu from Ibadan, Michael Ola from Odeda in Ogun State, and Wale Atoyebi from Ada also in Osun State as well as Titi Adeniyi (nee Dokpesi), who claimed to be a relation of the late Obafemi Awolowo family said that they were each on different occasions picked up or forced out of a vehicle and later found themselves in the evil forest.
Adeniyi, 45 emaciated and malnourished explained that she was sitting in front of her Oke- Bola, Ibadan house when some people just rushed at her, got her arrested and rushed her into a vehicle and eventually driven her away to an unknown place.
According to her, “I am from the compound of Late Baba Awolowo of Oke Bola in Ibadan. Some people came and rushed at me while I was sitting in front of our house. Nobody was around then. My people were in Lagos, they said I was wanted somewhere and that they came to arrest me. They then took me away in their vehicle. Later I found myself in that forest”.
She however claimed ignorance of anything happening around her while in the forest, saying, “I don’t know whether people were being killed or women giving birth. Where they kept us was where I used to be. Once I cover my head with my cloth, I would just sleep off”.
Ola, in his narration said he left Osogbo sometime last year to see his parents in Igboho in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State, but that on his return, he was just dumped somewhere which he later realised was the kidnap forest, noting that,  “If anybody calls me a mad person, I will be angry with him”.
Shittu, an Ibadan man and dealer in ‘agbo jedi’ (herbal liquid), who said he was living at Foko and Olodo areas before the misfortune that befell him said, “I was sitting somewhere at the Agodi Gate area of Ibadan when some people just swooped on me and rushed me into a vehicle.
“I had been in that place since four months ago. In the forest, we might not be given food for a whole week. People were dying”.
Another victim, Wale Atoyebi, who said he hailed from Ada, was so incoherent and stammering, that he just succeeded in muttering few words, but managed to say that he was not a mad person.
Many people have continued to throng the hospital from different states to behold the victims in sorry state. As at Monday, nobody had been able to identify any of the rescued persons as relations.
At the General Out-Patient ward of the hospital, where the victims were being attended to, nurses admitted that they had improved tremendously since they were brought there.
“When they arrived here, they smelt awfully. Some of us had to bathe and wash them while some Samaritans donated clothes to them”, the nurses said.
The nurses however explained the reason why the victims’ bushy hair were left untouched, saying, “you know their case is peculiar, if we should cut the hair now and anybody comes around to claim anyone of them and they asked where the hair is, what do you want us to tell them”?
It was gathered that the victims were eating well, even though three of them were just lying down on their beds without speaking to anyone and some were walking in and out under the watch of the hospital staff

Policeman kills self, wife, four others in Ogun

Grief, shock, pandemonium and disbelief could best describe the atmosphere in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Thursday as residents learnt of the killing of six persons by a Police Corporal, Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi.
Among the victims of the berserk policeman was also his wife, a Corporal, Oluwatosin Faremi.
The deceased policeman served with the Ogun State Police Command before the unfortunate incident early Thursday morning.
A statement by the Police Public Relations unit, signed by Muyiwa Adejobi, said the Corporal, who had been having domestic conflicts with his wife, shot and killed his landlady, a two-year-old baby girl and two males and a female.
It was not clear at press time who the parents of the toddler was, as police obliged that other three persons sustained injuries while the killing spree lasted.
The three people are receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre Idi Aba Abeokuta.
The said Corporal, having killed these persons, shot himself dead immediately.
Commissioner of Police Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, has described the incident unfortunate.
He has visited the scene with other senior police officers in the Command to assess the situation and sympathize with the relations of the deceased and members of Akinbola Ifelodun Estate Eleweran Area Abeokuta, where the incident took place.
The Command has commenced a thorough forensic investigation into the killing and promised to make sure justice is done in the matter.
The Police Commissioner however appealed to the general public to perceive the incident as one of the unfortunate social mishaps and not to judge the police with the incident.
He added that the police is committed to protection of lives and property and will not tolerate any act capable of trampling on fundamental human rights of the citizens in Ogun State.
